Zhuangzi, Chinese philosopher extrodinaire, speaks often of both physical and mental wandering. As a conflicted disciple his I have drifted along an endless Road that stretches out for decades before and after me. This path has led me from sitting atop a mist clad mountain with a man next to the coffin he built for himself to sipping tea with the rulers of a nation, from serving as bodyguard to a man with a suitcase full of cash to being driven from town by a coal factory owner. I have washed up upon distant shores and melded my voice with aboriginal singers on the trail of wild boar. My burnt skin has peeled back as I shifted through pottery fragments of a forgotten people and the fangs of monkeys have pierced my flesh. These are all steps along the infinite Road that I now invite you to travel with me, as companion, guide, adversary or silent watcher. Let us away, for the call of the Road echoes my yearning within. Will I ever cease to be compelled onward?
